Studio portrait of two young Malian ‘Djeli’, or griots (West African story tellers and musicians). One man is wearing western style clothes and carries a ghetto blaster, the other wears West African style robes and carries a traditional stringed instrument. Taken at Volta Photo, the studio of Burkinabé photographer Ibrahima Sanlé Sory. His work captured youth fashion and music culture. Collected as part of the Fashioning Africa project.
