Studio portrait of a young couple wearing clothes from a yougou yougou, or thrift store, which sold second hand European and American clothes. The French title ‘Les Amoureux Yougou Yougou’ could be translated as ‘Thrift store lovers’. Taken at Volta Photo, the studio of Burkinabé photographer Ibrahima Sanlé Sory. His work captured youth fashion and music culture. Black and white Hahnemühle Baryta exhibition print, collected as part of the Fashioning Africa project.
